King Kutter XB vs regular King Kutter

I have a B7500 and I'm considering picking up a 5' KK blade.
XB = $258 regular KK blade $222 at Tractor Supply.

I have toted my brothers blade, I think it's a 5' on my B7500 and had VERY little ground clearance when lifted up. Is this the differences?

I believe the XB series are the light duty equipment. You can use weight as a rule for implements like this. Something that weighs 300# is going to be sturdier than something weighing 195#. Go to kingkutter.com and review the specs. A sturdier implement is like a bigger motor. No dealer (car-boat-tractor) has ever had a customer come back a month after a major purchase and complain " I bought too much horsepower" However, the complaint that I underbought happen every day.

The King Kutter XB line is specifically designed for sub compacts. I looked up the specs on a B7500 Kubota, and found it to be 21 hp with an OAW of 42 inches??? If that is the correct specs, I would say the XB attachments would fit the tractor better than the larger King Kutter II line. The XB line is not lighter duty, they are just smaller, to fit the smaller SCUT's better.

The XB line is made for SCUT that have limited cat 1 spacing.. or cat 0 spacing. Their mowers have 2 tailwheels for stability.. etc.

As for complaining about buying 'too much'.. it sure does happen.

I got a great deal on my NH 7610s.. I bought it in 2004 .. it's a 2002 model... got literally thousands off. It had a dented/crumpled left fender, and a few creases int he sun canopy.. other than that it was solid and straight.

The previous owner had an orchard and mowed in it.. and kept hitting tree limbs. i hear he traded it for something much smaller.. like a tc 45/48.. etc... litterally half the size.. etc..

His loss ( depreciation).. my gain... And the crumpled fender don't bother me none...

FYI..............Tractor Supply ie phasing out their KK line. They starting to carry another brand which I can't recall the name of.

The King Kutter XB rear blade is a good fit on the B7500. I tried one and it works ok.

Another one that I feel might be a better fit for your tractor and it is the one that I finally purchased for my B7500 after trying both brands is the Woods Estate Series RBC60 Rear Blade.

It might be just a bit more in price but cuts in soil much better. Overall build and finish seems better.

Oh works great in snow also. The snow rolls off the blade very well and skid shoes are available for the blade.

I have a 4-ft KK XB box blade. Way too lightweight for serious stuff like scraping turf. So I have three 120-lb concrete weights to help out.

I had the same problem with a light box blade.

Also that is what I found to be true with the King Kutter XB rear blades.
But I believe it has a lot to do with the design of the blade. I feel the cutting edge is not angled enough to cut into soil.
When I tested the Woods Estate series RBC60 it cut so much better in soil due to the angle of the cutting edge.
I feel the Woods RBC60 is a good match for a B7500.

My XB BB only has about 3/4" of the front cutting edge below the bottom of the side plates (I removed the rear blade). I plan to cut about 3/4" off the bottom of these plates later this year when the rainy season arrives (Nov-May) and I get serious about installing a new lawn. Hope exposing more of the front cutting blade will make the thing work better for turf removal.

The King Kutter line is not being completely phased out of TSC. Because of the growth of TSC they have made the decision to use multiple vendors for their 3pt. Some stores in the Northeast are carrying Farm Force equipment.

I've been looking at 60" rear blades for the B7610 lately. So far the only one I like the looks of is the standard duty Woods RB60. That's because it has a blade tilt capability. I've found on my larger machines, that floating the blade in tilt allows it to do a much cleaner job removing snow with less damage to paved surfaces. That said, I still don't know if the B7610 will lift this blade high enough to make it practical.

None the KK rear blades that I've seen have a blade tilt capability. Same is true for the "estate" sized Woods RBC60. If anyone knows of a SubCut sized blade with tilt capability, I'd like to hear about it.

My dealer quoted $600 for the Woods RB60 with skid shoes. That's twice what the KK blades are going for. It'll have to be right before I pay that much.

Bob, I use a Woods RB60 blade on my sub-cut Cub Cadet 5234D. Works great and it also fits right up with the Speeco Quick Hitch I bought at Tractor Supply. I paid $375 for the blade last year without skid shoes. You might want to shop around.

Thanks for the info, Hard. Glad to hear the RB60 is working out for you. If it works on your Cub Cadet, I'd expect it'd be OK on the B7610.

The price sheet the dealer hands out on the Woods blades, lists skid shoes for the RB60 as a $178 option as I recall. Heck, that's almost as much as the blade.

I got skid shoes with my HBL84 blade and didn't pay much more than that for them. They're worth it; good design, very heavy duty. But that blade weighs twice what the RB60 weighs. Can't believe they don't have something better matched to the smaller blade. But that's Woods; H*** for stout.

Bo, I'm not sure they make this particular size, but they specialize in CUT and SCUT equipment, so you might try Buhler Farm King. I've never seen their equipment except in their catalogs, but they have several models.
