Anybody have one of these? How do you like it. Any problems?

This thread has lots of opinions. There are several others - do a search on "king kutter" and you'll find lots of stuff (if you come up blank on the search remember to change the date range back a few months).

I have a HD KK 7' rear blade that I purchased in May... Note, I said HD (Heavy Duty).... I wouldn't purchase the regular one because it looks too flimsy and it didn't pivot for slopes like the HD one. I will state that while I haven't used this blade in the snow yet (the intended use), I have used it for some landscaping with satisfactory results... I believe I paid about $675 for it... nice piece of equipment....

~$700 wow that seems high most blades i've seen aren't that much shipped from 100 miles away in the
$400-500 range for HD???

Well, given the things I will use it for, I didn't want to buy one of those flimsey ones for $300-400 with questionable support... I'll have to dig up a picture of this for you... it's got more thick reinforced steel than you shake a stick at...

Hey, I'm the kind of guy who is looking for something cheap and good... given I need to plow my 600' driveway, I looked around quite a bit for something that would be rock solid... this little puppy has what it takes to make my list.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know there were two types, not sure which it was that I looked at.

Probably a stupid question, but do you leave the rubber strip on all the time?

not sure I know what rubber strip you are referring to??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif.... Do you mean the black metal piece at the bottom of the blade?

I find the holes where the pins hold the blade at an angle elongate with long use. Now I don't have this particular brand, but haven't seen anything with hardened steel bushings either. I'm sure the pivot feature is time saving, but for home use wouldn't spend the extra money. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Use to own my own landscaping company and while I may be an IT manager now, I still do lots of landscaping around the homestead... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.... old habits and uses are hard to break.
