Kioti 2017 NX6010 - can you upgrade the FEL 'arms' to then use larger loader etc?

Hi All,

What a winter and very glad I have an enclosed tractor cab to go move about in.... as I contemplate a larger tractor wondering if there are options to stick with engine and most of frame and just upgrade the FEL / Arms which I mostly use (more so that the PTO)... or am I simply needing to look beyond the NX6010 series to something bigger /beefier . Move more snow higher, further, use tree / root puller easier, lift those red oak logs with grapple easier (even with two ballast blocks on tippin can happen!).... The arms seem a little flimsy even running attachments that are supposedly designed for a 60 hp tractor...

thoughts?

I think it is a mistake to start altering/upgrading the loader supplied by the manufacturer of your tractor.

It is a competitive ag equipment world and the tractor's designers would have included the loader which would not compromise the front axle and other parts of the tractor and yet provide the highest spec's possible.

If pulling trees is a big priority consider an implement like this one which has its own hydraulic cylinder to do the lifting/pulling out.

Think bigger machine!

I have a Kubota M7040 and for heavier jobs find it better to hire a backhoe for the speed and capacity. Even at $100 per hour, a backhoe will do a lot of work in a day that the $800 expense would not make much of an improvement in your tractor.

Yeah, I was thinking (daydreamin more like it) there might be some crazy start up out there offering 'upgrades' to your puny tractor lol.

I have a tree / post puller that works great (but not with hydraulic that you show there-nice!), but as most of us probably think/realize at some point, I shoulda gone bigger

I'm coming up on owning my NX6010 for 2 years. It's been good, I've put it through the paces for sure. Some point I'll come across a good article or comparison page that depicts models and oem's clearly for us newbie tractor owners. Love reading and gaining knowledge through all the posts here.

And yes, totally agree on the excavator rental, did that and it was great. During summer I make a list of excavator jobs and then go rent for a week. I was amazed that what I thought was a 5-7 day list was done in 2 days and I was driving around looking for chores lol. I did not and won't buy the backhoe for that exact reason - I want the power you can't get with the 'attachment backhoe'

What about a nice used backhoe loader? The loader will be beefier than your machine, heavy backhoe, but downside will be the QA systems are typically different.

Hey Crashz - that's a really good idea I need to revisit.... friend with a Cat 420 did a lot of work for me here on farm, I almost bought one instead of the Kioti NX6010, but the attachments / versatility of attachments and PTO for bush hog tilted me to a tractor first.... now, I see how I could really use a beefier loader and backhoe... ahhh the list never ends does it
