I just recently got a backhoe for my ck20. But it pulls the machine to easy. The stabilizer pads are smooth so i am thinking of bolting some angle iron on it to help. Just wondering if any of you have any ideas that work better /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Keep all four tires on the ground and lock the Brake as far down as it will go. That works for me.

Your front wheels don't feel the brakes unless you are in 4wd.

Yep, you're on the right track. My stabilizers are a piece of channel, about 2" deep. I can't imagine my machine holding still with smooth pads. Keeping the FEL bucket curled down with the cutting edge stuck in the dirt helps a lot but not sure if it's recommended.

Do the smooth pads flip over to a high traction side?

No i wish they did though /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. You would think as light as that tractor is that that would be standard equipment.

If an one has a picture of these pads please post it. I would like to see how they are made.

Another trick is to dig the loader toothbar directly down to anchor the machine while using the BH.

ok but i was always under the understanding that you never extend the bucket cylinders when exerting any backward force as it could buckle the cylinders. Is this incorrect?

That would make it pretty tough to backdrag.
