Doing some mowing this afternoon. Half way thru, second gear seemed to go no faster than first gear. Otherwise normal. Transmission oil level seems okay (even a bit high); engine oil okay.

Any suggestions? It was quite hot; maybe grass/dust on screen by radiator.

Brake stuck? Maybe something got wedged in linkage.

Wow, it's been a time. No nothing like that, nothing stuck in the brake. Here, two years later, it's the same issue. Second gear is very close to first. I picked a RPM, and ran between two trees about 50 yards apart, and timed it on my smart phone (well, not so smart, but that's what it said). Second gear was maybe 2 or 3 seconds shorter than in First gear. So, what do I do about this.??? Please advise, guys.

Live with it; nothing you can do about it. Maybe try third
