My dealer has a sale on a number of 50 horse Kiotos. All are new with loaders. He has a DK 5010 4 wheel drive with hydrostatic for $21,500, an open tractor. He has an NX5010 with a cab and loader and hydro for $33,500. Geared tractor are $1000 less and the cab is about $7000 over the open. I have no idea how this would compare to normal pricing and I am not familiar with the brand very much. I currently have a Yanmar and Mahindra.
I know everyone is loyal to their brand but any comments, good or bad would be appreciated. I do not put a lot of hours on my tractors but they work in quite thick, brushy and hilly conditions. I have used gear tractors only except to use my brother's hydro once. I would hesitate to buy new as the metal gets hit regularly by brush, thorns etc. Thanks

I think you're looking at this promotion:

More Power For Your Money | Kioti Tractors (note: US has the same promotion)

I just bought a DK5010HS and had it delivered earlier this week. So far, it's great. I previously owned a Kioti DK40SE HST bought in 2010 and was very happy with it, but sold it when I had no farm or acreage for a couple years.

The NX5010 is a larger CUT, while the DK5010 is a relatively small frame, but a powerful engine and loader capacity. Kind of an odd space, but useful if you are doing mostly PTO powered work (mowing, cultivating, snow blowing etc.).

FYI, the DK models don't have a hydrostatic transmission option. The HS model is a hydraulic shuttle - a gear transmission with a power-operated clutch. That's what I bought, and so far I like it very well. The NX models have a hydrostatic option.

Oh, as far as quality, I think Kioti would compare well with Yanmar. Mahindra offers a wide range of tractors, some made in India, some made in (?) Korea. The Korean-made Kioti would be not too different from the Korean-made Mahindras. Made-in-India tractors seem to be, typically, heavier and less refined, which can be good or bad depending on your needs and how you treat equipment.

Anyway, I liked my first Kioti enough to buy another one. My first Kioti replaced a US-made John Deere 5105, and I didn't feel it had any quality shortcomings in comparison. The Deere was probably built a bit heavier and more rugged, but it was also a full size class larger (farm utility vs. CUT) and was the very last year of the model, which I believe was discontinued because making quality but basic utility tractors in the US didn't meet Deere's profit goals. My 5105 was replaced in the Deere lineup with a MFWD version of the India-made 5103.
