Hi,

I was looking to buy a Midwest Equipment box blade but I can't find a dealer in Eastern IA. I did a search on google for the BB30-84 part # and it brought the Kioti site up. Specs are identical and dealer is close in Cedar Rapids. Do they rebrand Midwest Equipment and if so will I pay more buying it from a Kioti dealer? I was quoted $1150 for the 84" model. Is this good?

Midwest is the OEM maker for some of the Kioti implements. From what I can tell, they offer, via Kioti, the BB15-48 Sub-CUT box blade for the smaller tractors, they also seem to offer some of the BB20 series standard duty box blades. They are also offering their Heavy Duty 30 series box blades, which is the blade you got the price qoute for.

Midwest also make some of the landscape rakes for Kioti as well as back blades and possibly some other things. If you don't see exactly what you want from Kioti (size, features), realize that Midwest makes a wider product line and you might be able to find the item you want from a Kioti dealer (or any Midwest dealer) under the Midwest brand.

I think Midwest is a great brand, made right here in the USA, which is very rare! There stuff is on the high quality end of the spectrum and features & designs are good to very good. Their price is also typically very reasonable given the level of quality you get. I have no idea if Kioti is marking up their products over what you can get a Midwest branded item, however I suspect they would not be able to do that, nor would they really want to do that in a competitive marketplace.

Midwest makes their implements available in several colors including Blue, Green, Orange and Grey. Maybe red too?

As for the price quote, I checked Tarheel Tractor's Ebay store just to see. If you can live with a 72" blade instead of an 84" blade you could save about 50% by buying from them (but that does not include shipping costs that would likely be about $175-$200). Still, with shipping, their price would be about $400+ less than your quote. So your Kioti dealer sounds like he is priced pretty high. Tarheel Tractor's BB30-72 Ask for Brandon, he is a great guy to deal with. By the way, just because the item is not listed on his Ebay store does not mean it is not in stock, so you may find a similar savings on an 84" box blade from him.

Bob,
Midwest may not offer the orange paint anymore, since they have a "deal" with Kioti. But yes, they are the same no matter what color they are.

Got a quote from Rivera's Machinery in Texas for an 8' box blade when pricing a KIOTI tractor. I don't remember the brand but the price was $575! This is the lowest price I've found. Don't know if the price was tied to the tractor purchase though. Probably a 7 footer would be less.

Great price, if it is a good brand.

right. I'd have to know it was a 30 series for a comparison. They are the heavy duty model. I'll be using it on a 65hp 4wd so it has to be the hd.

Tim,

I just recently purchased the big 8' box blade from Kioti. Haven't used it much yet, but I can tell you it will move a lot of dirt from when I have used it!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I put all 8 diggers down, (as I like to call them) lowered it all the way, and in know time the box was running over and making my tractor start to spin!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I like it real well, RedDog

wow, looks like our tractors are pretty matched for hp in the 65 category. Do you have 4wd? I'm sure you do! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif That would be something to get all spinning. Must be quite a bit of dirt.

I want mine for leveling building sites and fixing some problem areas left by a dozer 20+ yrs ago. Should be a lot of fun!
