I have heard from a few sources that the bh that are being put on the ck20 are having some problems with hyd. bleed off and also the way the sub frame is mounted on the tractor resulting in more stress on the tractor and it is better to go with a woods four point sub frame. anyone have any ideas on these issues. I'm in the process of looking and buying a ck20 with fel and bh. thanks ken

Hi Ken, I have the CK20 with Backhoe, I have about 30 hours on the BH and no real issues, the brackets do move even though they are as tight as I can get them, it has tons of power, finally welded them to the frame, as for the hydraulics, when off the tractor the cylinders leak past the seals and valves resulting in the unit sitting on the floor, when going to mount it I back over to within 6 inches of final location, connect the hoses and use the hydraulics to get the height correct,

280 hours on my CK20HST and more than half of those are on the backhoe removing stumps and installing culverts. I have not had any problems with it so far. I did need to replace the seals in one of the stabilizers (outriggers) but that is because I had a large rock fall on the piston and it knicked it bad enough to ruin the seal. I beleive anything hydraulic will leak a little when sitting because there is no perfect seal. When I remove the backhoe, I pull away and then move the joysticks to make sure it sits on the floor and there is not stress on the seals. Even when it's on the tractor, I lower the stabilizers and bucket to the floor instead of leaving them up whenever I put away the tractor.

The CK20 backhoe is amazingly strong for it's size. It easily overpowers the weight of the tractor. That's why I hook it up to my truck when pulling the big stumps.

I had no trouble with my KB2365 BH over the two years I owned it. I did end up adding "Big Foot" shoes to the stabilizers to prevent the BH pulling the tractor around though and would highly recommend doing that. Worked great and I did not need to chain the tractor to a pickup:D.

I also have a CK20 with bh that I have had for 2 years. The BH works great and the only minor problem, as have been mentioned, the subframe braces loosen and need to be tightened occasionally. Mine also, will slowly bleed down. I think this is normal and the main boom and outriggers have locking mechanisms to prevent this.

the bleeding is going to happen on any hydraulics when it is off unless you have one of thoes check valves in the system like they use on the hydraulic third arm. Even the big trackhoes fall victim to this. I also have the issue with the braces and will be welding them here soon. The backhoe is way more powerfull then the tractor is weight. You will not go wrong with this backhoe. I have over 100 hours on mine and the only thing i had to do is rebuild the top of the spools on the hydraulics. There is a new kit to correct that issue and after it is done you dont have to do it agina. If you are buying new then that shouldnt be an isue at all.
