Kioti CK25 starting issues

Hey guys, just wanted some other heads in the mix. CK25 with 1000 hrs, I've had since 984 hrs, recently changed all fluids, fuel filter and thermostat for maintenance. Tractor has always started right up even cold. Noticed a couple weeks ago that it was barely starting but once started ran great. Seemed to crank slow. I assumed battery and thought I'll test and replace soon. Well, not soon enough. Went to start tractor yesterday and just got solenoid click. After that, got pinion gear against flywheel grind, stopped right there. Put meter across battery and got 12.6V. Didn't have any way to test amperage so put battery in my 140HP, 4 cyl VW diesel and it started it right up, no problems. Starter has starting relay piggyback on starter motor. From + batt term to starter +,meter gave .3v drop, sounds about right? I'm thinking new starter, what do you guys think? Pretty sure starter is original. Thanks for your time!

A different battery started it right up.
Sounds more like a bad battery.

Have you check the battery terminal - positive side. They have a bad habit of corroding to the point of breaking and not letting current through, A way to check if the terminal/cable is bad is to jump from battery directly to the hot lug on the starter. If that does not work, you probably on the right track about the starter. Some NAPA auto parts stores and others can check it for you if you take it in.
