I am not opposed to the clutch on a hydrostatic tractor one bit. Less wiring and overall a much simpler design, alot less actuators to rely on. I like having to use the clutch to put the pto on. It is a much more audible engagement. Those little push button ptos will eventually wear out. But a clutch does require maintenance and adjustments, and spliting the tractor for a clutch job isnt to complicated. The clutchless HST 's are nice, my dads kubota mx is very nice, but his HST looks way more complicated than my kioti ck's. I am also pretty sure a clutchless will cost more as well. In the end it really doesnt matter, more a personal choice type of thing. I used to like gear drives way more than hydros because hydros can get hot under constant load. But not really an issue anymore. And i suppose all tractors are made fairly well anymore.
