The drawbar on my new CK 2610 has a 1 1/8" diameter hole. This is far too large for the standard Category 1 pin. In fact, the largest hitch-pin I could find on the internet (Messicks, Tractor Supply Company, etc.) was 1" diameter. So, some questions:
1. Is this a standard size hole?
2. Can I get a sleeve to reduce the hole size to accept a 3/4" pin?
3. What do you use when you want to pull something with the drawbar?

Thanks for the help.

You dont need a 1 1/8 shackle. a 3/4" would work great. All you are doing is pulling with it.

When I bought my tractor (used) it did not come with a drawbar, so I improvised with an old bumper hitch bar from a car (was in the scrap pile). I use one of these when the ball would normally go...

I have seen people put the ball for a trailer hitch in the end hole (not sure it will fit in 1 1/8th though).

You need an oversized hole. Anytime you go across uneven ground (a road ditch, terraces, etc) you have movement between the tractor and whatever your pulling; both left and right as well as up and down. A ball hitch is, of course, the best since you have free movement in all angles, without any slop. However, at the speeds tractors operate, a considerable amount of slop is really no big deal. If you use a 3/4 inch pin in a 7/8 inch hole, you will put incredible strain on that pin if (when) you go over uneven ground.

The drawbar/hitch comes in handy but be aware it can interfere with a 3-point implement/attachment.

Don't ask me how I know.

This is the best answer so far;
Any towed implement that attaches to a drawbar with a clevis style hitch needs space to move .
Traveling across a field and the rear axle of the tractor goes thru a dip or wash with both tires the angle between the hitch and the implement will change if there is not room for the pin to float a severe strain will result and something will need to give (bend or get twisted). in the same vein the left side of the tractor goes thru a hole while the left side of the implement goes over a rock or hump the pin and clevis has to allow free movement or something will be strained, stressed or bent.

On road vs off road; on road / flat service you use a ball mount for towing, off road / rough terrain a pintle mount is the way to go, that larger hole in essence will act like the pintle will, it will allow for some slop and assist in preventing binding......
