I am looking at a 2014 Kioti DK 40SE has anyone had any trouble with the DEF system on this model tractor

I didn't think they had def my dk50se doesn't, wasn't that model before the tier 4 engines?

I believe you are correct. I have a 2016 DK and it is the 5010 with a DPF system. I am guessing the two digit model DKs are pre-tier 4.
