Tractor was working fine, sat for a few weeks (normal) and then I started bush hogging. Ran well for about an hour, then RPMs would drop sharply (to the stall point) on a slight incline. Eased off pedal and turned to go across slope and had white smoke coming out. Did nothing but add fuel before this. Oil and coolant are ok, so I don't think head issues. Added a diesel additive to absorb water in case that was an issue (fuel was from same supplier as always), and changed fuel filter. After bleeding, tractor ran fine again, this time for about 15 minutes when the same symptoms occurred. I don't see any leaks, and I can't really see much in the fuel tank since there is what looks like a plastic shelf about 6 inches down into it (BTW is it normal for the fuel level to drop when the fuel cap is removed? I saw diesel when I opened it and by the time I got a flashlight and came back, only saw the plastic shelf).
I'm not super-mechanical, but I'd like to eliminate any easy fixes before I haul it to the dealer (had my share of dumb issues fixed by the dealer). Any ideas? Thanks!

I do not want to sound like I know what I am doing, but I can give you my idea of what I see. White diesel exhaust tells me LEAN condition. Not enough fuel.
Fuel changing level tells me first off maybe a blocked fuel vent on the tank side. These are only my assumptions and suggestions of where to start. Maybe they can point you in the right direction Good luck and work safe.

Thanks for the response. Some guys at work thought a blocked vent may be possible, but I can't find a vent. Had a neighbor tinker with it yesterday and he was stumped - ran great on level but first uphill it hit killed it. Oh well, looks like time to load it up and bring it to the dealer, at least I've got a great guy to bring it to!

There should be a vent hose some where off the tank, make sure that isn't full of dirt or pinched off. If it is just doing it on uphill climbs as the fuel moves away from the pick up tube in the tank, low fuel or maybe a clogged pick up tube ?. There was a thread where another person was mentioning his DK45 held allot of pressure also, along with several issues about water in the bottom of the tank.
