Kioti engine running away

Just purchased a Kioti tractor with a known problem, cannot control the engine rpm, cranks right up and runs great but the rpm's keep increasing and cannot briung it down with controls, also cannot stop it with the fuel cut off, the aonly way to stop is to disc the fuel supply, the fuel cut does not seem to be operating far enuff to cut it off, any suggestions, thanks in advance

Model, year of manufacturer, hst or gear, # hours on tractor?

I'd suspect a broken governor spring or linkage to the rack from the governor. Just a guess.

You should go to the Kioti owning/operating board....lots of threads there about broken injection pumps, model years with known problems, and such....Hill Billy Bob

As a heavy equipment mechanic I would say Daves tractor is right. Sounds like the rack in the pump is stuck or a governor problem. If you have a diesel fuel shop close by you could prob pull the injection pump off and have them check it. Not familiar with the type of gov on a Kioti. Im sure its a weighted spring type that most all older diesels used. If you do pull the pump off make sure you don't have to "pin time" the pump or set the engine at TDC on number 1 cyl. Most use this to conform the pump to cyl position is correct.

Cutting off the air supply "with a block of wood" should also kill it.
Don't use your hands.
Sound like the injection pump needs attention, have it looked at soon, before
the engine blow's.
