Kioti Ignition wiggle

I suggest a little more enthusiastic approach based on a similar experience. Upon replacing the ignition switch with the $50 Kioti part, I noticed the ignition switch is easily disassembled by removing the phillips head screw on the base by the wiring harness. The plastic cap pops off easily exposing a spring forcing contact of two copper disks that provide electrical contact. All you need to do is remove any corrosion apply an electrically conducting grease and reassemble. It is a robust design electrically, but susceptible to moisture through the keyhole. Use the plastic cap to keep the water out. Job is 1/2 hour tops including cleaning the copper.

I have a CK20HST and had a wiring harness go south on me. At first I tried to diagnose the problem. Getting to the instrument panel requires that the shroud be pulled from around the instrument panel. That means pulling the steering wheel, removing the throttle lever handle, and removing the fuel shut off lever if you have one. Pulling the steering wheel is not for the faint of heart especially if the dealership used an air tool to attach it when they prepped the tractor. Just getting to the connector for the ignition switch is a chore in it's own right. Just wished these tractor manufacturers would give a few more inches of wire so that these things could be worked on without having to contort your body in ways God never meant them to be. Getting the shroud off around the bottom of the tractor where the 4WD lever and brake lock lever is is easy enough. But getting to the instrument panel does require the steering wheel come off so you can lift the shroud off and expose all the electrical and the instrument panel. If you are lucky enough to get the steering wheel off without having to use a saws all and cutting it off then you are good to go. If not for the steering wheel getting to the instrument panel would be a piece of cake. Mine was just about welded on and I couldn't/wouldn't remove it. Luckily my electrical problem was the wiring harness on the right side of the tractor leading from the front of the tractor to the fuse box and from the fuse box around to the inside of the shroud under the steering column. Too bad Kioti doesn't make that shroud around the instrument panel in two pieces. That would really save a lot of time in making repairs to the instrument panel and anything electrical around the panel. Again, nothing ever gets engineered with service in mind anymore. All throw away engineering these days.
