Repost from last. Got sent before I finished. The manual says the fluid level should be half way up in the sight glass. Below is quoted from the owners manual:
Hydraulic/Transmission Fluid Level
The tractor hydraulic/transmission and differential fluid use the same reservoir. The fluid is contained in the transmission housing. When inspecting this fluid level, be sure that the hydraulic cylinder(s) are in their normal position with implements resting on the ground. The fluid is most accurately checked before operating the tractor while the fluid is at room temperature.
To check the fluid level, the 1914 has a view windoe on the right side of the transmission (close to the brake pedals). The fluid should show between the marks as indicated in the window (appox 1/2 the window)
The manual specs the following fluids:
Multi-grade Trans fluid
Chevron---Tractor hydraulic fluid
EXXon--Torque fluid 56
Mobil---Mobil Fluid 350
Pennzoil--Hydra-Tranz and wet brake
Quakerstate--Tractor hydraulic
Shell--Donax T-4
Texaco---TDH oil
Union----Hydraulic/tractor fluid
Valvoline---Unitrac
