I'm pretty new to this tractor thing, but I bought a decent sized piece of land and needed one to help take care of it. A year ago I picked up a LK3054 and this spring my PTO stopped working. I took it apart and found the PTO shift fork broken. Today I got the new fork, installed it and put everything back together but this is the first time I've ever done anything like this and I'm a little worried everything went back together a little too easy.
Before I put the 27L of transmission fluid back in or tear it open again to recheck my work is there a safe way to check that the PTO is working now? I am getting a nice mechanical snick-snick-snick when I move the lever but the PTO turns freely with the extra sound of gears turning when the lever is in the engaged positions. Is this right or should the PTO be hard/impossible to turn by hand when engaged?
