Mowing kioti mid mount mower

I bought a new CK20HST in 2004, it came with a 60"mid mount mower. I have a lot of problems with it eating belts. I read some where about someone doing something with the tensioning pulley to help with this. Any Ideas would be great.

If anyone knows the best way to adjust the deck (side to side, front to back) the directions that came with it were not very good.
