Kioti NX5010
I just purchased a new NX5010 the unit was blowing fuses and my dealer thought it might be due to me bypassing the seat safety switch.
I simply want to let everyone know that, the fuse was a separate issue from the seat switch.
The seat switch can be bypassed with out affecting the computer. Confirmed with OEM
This forum will not allow me to post the link
So go to ebay then search for KIOTI-Tractor-Seat-safety-Switch-bypass-Connector
With kind regards,
Wayne

Hope you don't have kids. Or pets.

And what about other things you care about like hands or feet?

My tractor doesn't have a seat safety switch (never did).
My previous tractor never had a seat switch.
We get by just fine ..

I just replaced the two front bolts in the bottom seat cushion to keep the switch closed.

People, you DON'T bypass the seat safety switch!..

Can you find one accident that would have been prevented with a seat “safety”? PTO injuries don’t count because you can flip the seat up and use those. You might find more people that jumped off a bridge because of the frustrations caused by the seat “safety”

I’ve had a couple of instances where I’ve caught a lever with cuff of my shorts, or jacket pocket or jacket bottom particularly loose jackets when dismounting. The switch serves a purpose, with that said I don’t always shut down when dismounting.

Yeah, a few years ago a bloke who was mowing a golf course. He has towing a multi-blade mower and was 'bounced' out of his tractor seat, back into the mower.

Then there's the single operator people who are run over by their own tractor, whilst the tractor is engaged/running, to do square bale loading.

Sounds more like a seat belt issue..

I bypassed mine. Never had one on any tractor before, and don't feel like I need it now either. Also, all my tractors are hydrostat, they will stop if I bounce off. The really dumb one, IMHO, is my cab tractor. What on earth are we preventing here? You can't be bounced "out" of a cab tractor. The reason I bypassed that one, I have to stand to see where the tip of the pallet forks are (in the cab) and it was impossible to line up before bypassing. Common sense is a lot more important than a switch, IMHO. And I'm usually pretty keen on safety, I wear full kevlar when I use a chainsaw, for example, because I can't "smart" my way out of a kickback. I can try to avoid it, but it still happens. With a cab tractor, I honestly can't think of what the switch would "protect me" from. Doubly so with a hydrostat, I mean... I suppose there's a 1-1,000,000 situation someone can come up with where the switch would save me, but dealing with the annoyance, it's just not worth it to me.

On my open station tractor, I also have it disabled, but that's because it has a backhoe and I can't "inch" the tractor without someone in the drivers seat. Very annoying. But on that one, I realize I'm taking a risk. It's a small risk though, same deal, hydrostat. You bounce off, tractor stops because your foot isn't on the go pedal anymore. Cab tractors though, I can't imagine why you'd bother having a safety switch on there.. So you're forced to put it in neutral before getting off? How does that make the situation any safer at all?
