Personally, if I hadn't been on the wrong side of a tractor and dealer nightmare in the past, and been supremely grateful to one who came to my rescue *cough*Dave*cough* I would not appreciate how important the dealer really is. They can make or break your next few tractor owning years, so choose wisely.
That said, my RX has been good thus far, although I haven't done many of the tasks (mow till) wango tango will be asking of it. Has it been fault-free? No. Have the faults been sorted without hassle? Yes. Were they major? No (loader valve replaced - was a bit sticky, headlights blowing fuses - wires shorting).
If you read the respective brand-specific forums for Mahindra and Kioti, you should be able to get a reasonable idea about the tractors. But, please, do some digging on the dealers you are looking at too. That's so critical, in my opinion.
Honestly I think at this point, all of the major brands are pretty good - Mahindra, TYM, LS, etc. You hear few horror stories like people who pick up old Russian tractors, grey market, etc.
I agree - dealer support in many areas is what you need to look at. There are 2 Kioti dealers I can work with here, until recently there were zero local Mahindra dealers... now there is 1 but I'm somewhat doubting how long they'll carry the line. (They had Cub/Yanmar for a relatively short period IMO)
Having 2 dealer options to me is a good deal.
