Kioti rx6010pc power shuttle problem

I have a kioti rx6010pc with a power shuttle. The power shuttle intermittently disengages from forward drive. Reverse will still work. After turning the tractor off and sitting for a while. The tractor will then go forward. This may happen 2-3 times in 30 minutes or not at all in 4-5 hours. Talked with two dealers. One said it was the solenoid, needed to take it in for diagnosis. Would not give me an estimate. I can't see giving him a blank check for repair. Other dealer said would have to replace the shuttle shift valve and just the part was $2,300 plus shipping. Has anyone had this problem before, know the correct answer, know where to buy the solenoid, or know where to buy the shuttle shift valve at a reasonable price? Thanks for any suggestions.

I would be more alarmed that two different dealers gave two completely different diagnoses without even seeing the tractor. At least the first guy is starting with a more basic, cheaper approach. He honestly cannot give an estimate without looking at it and is offering what he thinks it might be. The second guy sounds like it will be $2,300 dollars regardless of what it actually is. "Yep, just like we thought, bad shuttle valve" even if it turns out to be something simple.

Can you swap the two solenoids (forward and reverse) to see if that makes a difference? If not, the first guy seemed more honest in his approach. The second seems a little shady IMHO.

Thanks for the response. I finally received the manual. Actually the solenoids are attached to the shuttle shift valve. The first dealer said you could buy the solenoid separately and the second dealer said you had to buy the entire shuttle shift valve. That was the reason for the greater cost. If does appear the solenoids are interchangeable. The manual says the first step to accessing the valve is to remove the fuel tank. Of course I just filled it up. To me the cost of the valve is ridiculous. Aftermarket car parts that are more complex are considerably cheaper. There should be a place to buy tractor parts at a reasonable price. IMHO.

Tractor parts are always expensive, regardless of the brand.

I would just swap the solenoids with each other and see if the issue moved to when it's driving in reverse.

I remember seeing in another post/forum where someone was saying the relays are a generic type of part. Kioti does not make relays, they buy them. The base/socket and relays are a fairly standard configuration. A little research may be in order.

Yep, most likely a Bosch type 5 pin 30a relay. I dont have the manual downloaded to check though.

its all about economies of scale. do you think ford would pay 2300$ for a shuttle shift valve if there was one on 1 of the 900,000 ford f-150's they sold last year. they would probably pay 230$ with that kind of volume...
