I just purchased a used King Kutter 48" rotary mower (bush hog).
Not having much tractor experience (I purchased the CK20 manual about 1 year ago and have a 60" rear finish mower), I won't be doing anything too extreme with the KK, just mow patches were vines and weeds are thick -- places I don't want to use the finish mower. I have a few questions about my expectations of this KK mower.

1. Is this KK too big for the CK 20 in general?

2. When the KK is attached properly to the 3-point hitch, will it be possible to raise the whole unit off the ground (including the single large wheel at the rear). If not, is it safe to travel on pavement to transport over 2.5 miles with the rear wheel on the pavement?

3. Will a rotary mower "virbrate" more than a finish mower in general? My 60" rear finish mower hardly virbrates at all, but the KK seems to have a light vibration at operating speed.

My biggest probelm is going to be, I think, is attaching the KK via the 3-pt hitch to the tractor CORRECTLY. The attachements on the KK aren't quite the same as on the finish mower I have, especially the top connection.

A picture of a properly attached KK to a Kioti 3-point hitch would be worth a 1,000 words!

Thanks!

Your tractor will handle a 48" brush hog fine. I have a CK20HST and have rented a brush hog to cut heavy blackberry bushes did just fine handled as well as the 60" finish mower that I use. No problem lifting it off the ground. I have a steep hill that I mow if I mow across the hill which I try not to do and it is wet without the loader it will slide the back of the tractor around so you need to be careful there. You should not have any problem with what you want to do

Forgot to mention vibration. The KK will vibrate more than the finish mower. The KK will have much heavier and bigger blades. It should not vibrate enough to really shake the mower if it does you need to check the blades. Three point hitch implements all attach the same way a pin on each side for the arms one in the middle for the top link. The only difference should be the solid mount for the top link on the KK. The finish mower has a swivel mount for the top link

Thanks for the information.

I need to work on adjusting the 3-pt hitch to the KK to be able to lift the unit off the ground.

If you are traveling over even ground, I'd travel with the rear wheel riding on the ground. You'll find that the ride is a lot less bumpy.
