Loader KL130 cylinder seals

Hello all, new member from Slovakia here. At a tricky time, with shops mostly closed, my 130 decided to start leaking from the bucket cylinder. Seen a host of good info from the forum, and now know the sizes of many of the parts that may be necessary. I dont really want to take it apart to find exactly what has gone, because if we have more snow on top of what came in the last two days I may have to dig us out (again). Kioti seem to be poor in seal kits, the only one I can find being the complete piston. But I know from here the sizes of the U seals and wearclip. But does anyone know what size the O-rings 1BG23 are? I think they lie inside the piston head. And has anyone found the need to replace them? Many thanks for reading!

I've replaced a piston twice because they wanted $40 for each seal and it came to more than the price of the whole piston $95.
When I did the cylinder for the second time I checked the inside and found it was ruff where the fitting was welded on so I used a break cylinder hone to polish it smooth . I don't recall any 0 rings on the piston but I have one in my shop and will check later today.

But no-one seemed to know the sizes. Someone else suggested that if you've got the thing apart it might be worth replacing them, or at least having them available just in case they did need replacing. Sound plan, but the only reference I can find anywhere is on the Kioti parts drawing CK08-1109 where it is named 'O-ring 1BG23'. No search for that comes up with anything remotely similar in size.

Thanks. I have had to bite the bullet and buy the piston, as I have no idea which seals have until I have it apart, which would mean the tractor out of action. I will try to measure all the bits and post!

Very few hrs. when I replaced this piston the dealer gave me a new one which didn't last long that's when I inspected the inside of the tube and realized the weld inside the tube was causing the problem.

Ok, update to my story- with the lickdown situation here I couldn’t get to the bank to put some cash in so it could be transferred to the supplier of the piston (didn’t have credit card facilities!). Anyway, while waiting I thought I’d take the cylinder off and see what sesls were needed. No chance! Gland nut seized solid, and I mean solid! Cylinder in vice 4ft steel bar through the pivot and the bar was bending! Took it to a local shop and he succeeded. Said there was no way to do it manually. Cost to open and fit new seals - €21! I couldn’t buy them for that.

Nice. I'm glad you got it fixed. Specially for so little money. :thumbsup:

Here in Europe, it's even worth the time to check the OEM Seal kit price. 99% of the times, you can just go to a hydraulic shop, buy all the seals for a fraction of the cost of the OEM seal kit. Same for bearings, oil seals and so on.

By the way, 21€ is about $23 for our Americans friends.

Glad that worked out. Other posts on TBN report shops sometimes charging hundreds of dollars to replace seals.

To remove the gland on a Kubota recently, I had to use a 36" pipe wrench and 48" breaker pipe. Leaving the cylinder on the tractor to hold it is usually the best approach.

Hey Andy, did you ever get all the seals sorted out on size? How are they holding up? I took my leaking cylinder to a shop last year and it’s leaking again so figured I’d do it myself this time around but I’m still unsure of all the seals needed. TIA!
