KL130 FEL Crack Repair Deadline 1-23-09

Just FYI I got a call from my dealer today asking if I've received a letter from Kioti regarding the FEL fix and they said that it needs to be done by 1-23-09 to be covered by Kioti. I never did receive a letter from Kioti but have followed the problem on TBN since before I even purchased the tractor (highbeam was the only case then). When I called the dealer this summer they said there were still some problems with the fitting of the kit. I've had my CK25HST for about 2.5 years now with 200 hours and have four cracks that are from the inspection hole out to the bend of the tube and starting to work ther way around the corners of the tube. The cracks have never seemed to affect the operation of the loader and it still sits level on the ground after hard use. Love the tractor and would make the same choice again although with a different loader with what I know now. I've seen talk of the deadline somewhere in the forums in the past but wanted to bring it up again being that it's so close to the deadline. I would hate to see somebody already have the pain of the cracked loader and then compound it by not at least getting the "fix" covered by Kioti. If my dealer wouldn't have called to remind me I would probably have missed the deadline for the repair to be covered if that is indeed the correct deadline.

I'm sure Kioti is trying to get this off their plate but they will be stuck with outlyiers for some time to come. I was a CK20 owner and never got a notice from Kioti. My original dealer dropped Kioti (or was pushed out). What would Kioti do (assuming I still had my tractor) if I called them in April and asked for a kit? I think they'd be fools not to continue the free repair kit program in practice even though it may be reasonable of them to "officially" end it.

I agree with Island. They already manufactured all of the kits and they only have to pay for about an hour of the dealers service time to install them - at least thats all it took my dealer. The dealer who put mine on had dozens of them at his location just a few months ago and I'm sure they haven't used them. I know there is a lot of different opinions on this, but I'm happy with both the looks and the performance of mine, and all I had to do was take the arms into the dealer in my pickup instead of the whole tractor.

And then there are some of us who can't (or won't) get to a dealer location due to distance/cost. Kioti should know this by the address they sent my letter. I'd have to ship my tractor by barge to a dealer I only buy filters from.

Strange Kioti can't trust me to install it. Guess it's better it stays cracked.

Maybe in years to come I can have a friend weld it, but maybe I should laminate the letter and place in the tube for posterity.

Still love my CK30.

There are a number of dealers, some active on TBN, who will bend the rules and ship you the repair kit for self installation if you contact them and are discrete about it. Before I sold my CK20, I too was in a similar situation with the tractor on an island and many $$$ from any Kioti dealer. Several TBN dealers contacted me by PM and offered to help. The CK30 situation is a bit more difficult as there are at least a few different repair kit sizes but I'd imagine something could still be worked out.

Yet another situation where good dealers bail out Korporate Kioti.
