Well after 6 years and almost 2 months the old 4025 original battery finally died. I hate to admit it but I do not even know the brand because it has never been out (tucked in there tight and nothing on top but the warnings) . Unless something is really cheaper I am going with the exact same battery. It never failed till the end and practically zero corrosion on the battery + terminal. I'll let y"all the brand as soon as it is out. Probably next weekend.

That is impressive. With all the heat down here in the summer, I can hardly get my car and truck batteries to last three years! We do need to figure out which brand Mahindra is using...

That's about right for a wet cell. Five or six years is about all they'll go sometimes more sometimes less but that's a normal life span for one.

I must agree with Snowback, that was a long time for a battery exposed to the Texas heat.

That is good for today's batteries. My old 78 Chevy PU Delco battery lasted eight years. Other Delco's lasted similar time back then.
The best warranty I have found is Walmart's batteries. Getting 4-5 years is good now days.

WOW! Seriously? I had horrible luck with Walmart. Pretty much guaranteed 1-3 years tops and trouble. Pawned them off on my flips. Now, nothing but Interstate. Piece of mind is worth the extra few bucks.

Walmart was giving three years full replacement. I got five out of my boat batteries. For the price compared to name brand it was worth it.
Diehard top of the line lasted two years before it died. I have not used Interstate for over twenty years.

I went to Odyssey AGMs several years ago and have never replaced one yet. The original I had was before Odyssey bought the Hawker line and it failed only because the welder/regulator crapped out, overvolted and put something like 18 or 20 volts on it so it was no fault of the battery. That thing sure swelled up like a toad.

Mighty impressive. Up north the cold winters really cut back the battery life to 3-4.

How good have those Walmart batteries been in the cold you guys??

I have always looked at battery purchases as more of rental than purchase. Most all batteries will have 100% replacement in the first 2 or 3 years and then it becomes pro-rated. I have purchased Wal-Mart batteries with no more problems than any other brand. You do have the option to spend more on a battery if you like but the most important thing is to get the right (enough) amount of cold cranking amps. 12 volts is 12 volts no matter who makes it. Since I am pretty sure there are only 4 or 5 actual battery manufacturers out there and dozens of brands, you are really only paying for a name brand. That is why I said "unless something is really cheaper I would buy the same brand". My guess is, I will be able to find something cheaper and have no problem putting a Wal-Mart battery in the old 4025.
