Loader Knocking off Hydraulics on DK45SE

If the DK45SEC is anything in design to the NX4510HST you need a lot of skid plates to protect things like the fuel tank and brackets, hydraulic filter base on the right side, wires down under, loader connectors, the hoses for the loader rub under the edge on the right side floor board, better guards for the tie rod end rubbers, what am I forgetting. You will surely damage all of these items if you decide to run through heavy small trees, heavy brush or cut down branches. I'll be skid plating mine sometime in the next year or so and will try and remember to post pictures as I do it.

I knocked them off once on my tractor too, so now I only go one way over saplings until you are through them. Reversing in the middle of them lets them poke at all sorts of tender stuff under there that isn't as easy a fix! Also you can fold everything over with the bucket an inch off the ground, or the box blade does a good job when backing up.

You got that right. Put the bucket down and just knock them over. Never back up over a pile that you just knocked down. Never drive the opposite way on that pile or road until the brush or trees are completely down. I bent my hydraulic filter bracket and pipe to the point that the pump suction connecting hose almost ripped in half. It did puncture but I was lucky as it is the suckion side. It didn't leak until I shut the tractor off. By then I had a big drain pan under it.

Okay folks - what I have used is a 4" plumbing connection. I have included pics as promised. I bought it at Home Depot. I had to get one big enough to fit over the entire cluster because there is not enough room between the QCs to do them individually as I originally planned. We'll see how this works. image1.jpegimage2.jpegimage3.jpegimage4.jpegimage5.jpeg

I have learned to be more careful when backing up (especially after I stripped all the blades off the cooling fan) but sometimes you are pinched and have no choice so hopefully this will help!

Best preventative practice is to have a bush hog hanging off the back and to be running it in reverse (until the brush is shorter than the undersides of your tractor). My B7800 has mostly been able to crawl on and over just about anything w/o problem (not much to get snagged- and I've literally surfed over a lot of brush!). Different story with the NX: I'm a lot more religious about adhering to best practices.

All said, however, running over [detached] branches laying on the ground can cause lots of problems as the wheels kick them up into various parts of the tractor.
