Kohler 23 hp K582S Engine Needed

I have a Hustler 275 that threw a rod through the side of the block. What now? Does anybody have any ideas, since a new engine would not make sense. What's the chance anyone has a good used one?

You might try here. I haven't done business with these people but their prices seem reasonable and they have been in business at least a few years.

Hi; Thanks for the reply. This engine is in a Hustler 275 commerical mower. I'm not so concerned about the hp rating as I am as to if it would bolt up in the mower in exactly the same way?? Do you know?

I have the same engine in my Bolens tractor and I have never been able to find a substitute engine that will bolt in and work without some modification. That is a hard block to find, but not impossible. I have seen a few on eBay from time to time..... the complete rebuild-able engine sells for about $150 plus shipping....
