So have you checked the choke? If the choke shaft top has a spring loaded control, it could be broken. Something easy for you to try would be to remove the air box so you can see the choke operation plus resecure the carb w/ the air box off and run it. If your float valve is damaged fuel should be more apparent. BTW, the carb pops off these easy where you can check the float and valve. If the tip is disjointed or you see a ring of wear, you may get by just replacing the float valve, which is easier to find in a kit. They do offer a kit that includes the seat as well, but you may be better off replacing it w/ an OEM carb.

The Chinese carbs work great. I’ve replaced one on a Stihl blower and it solved my issue. The carb cost me $17 three years ago. Today it is going for $12! I love Amazon .

I'm happy for you but many are one season wonders or never work / leak etc. See them plenty.

Well Tom I go out of my way to buy American, but the genuine Kohler carb was like 170 bucks. So I ordered the 15 buck ebay item and if I bought one a year as easy as they are to change I won't complain.

Well guys, I've been very busy last month but did order a $16 carb, sat in barn for a couple of weeks and finally put it on.
Knock on wood but problem solved. Still does a few strange things. 7 year old grandson starts it today-not sure where he had throttle, but started with a bang. But runs smoothly.

Hopefully case closed.
