Kohler MV20 Rebuild - What to expect and how much?

I recently purchased a GT6000 with an 18 HP kohler. It originally had a 20 HP kohler that I also got. The owner said it was running when he went to get the phone and it started squealing and seized.

I want to rebuild the 20 HP but have never worked on Kohler engines before. What should I expect to find and does anyone have a ball park figure on the cost to rebuild?

Do you think the crank will be OK? I used to rebuild Tecumsehs many years ago
and most times the crank would be OK, but like I said, I have never worked on Kohlers.

A siezure usually transfers alumnum to the crank. it may be able to be turned. should be turned if damaged or not. using the assumption that the crank is not salvagable you are looiking at about 1000 in parts to rebuild. the crank runs between 500-700.
