Hi guys,
I'm sure this subject has beed done over and over,, but i just can seem to find anything. Anyhow,, i have a Komatsu D21-6 (early 80's i think) with two levers and the dozer runs fine but it doesn't steer,, It goes forward and backwards..
Basically
1. when i pull both levers the dozer stops. eem the dozer want to keep going forward
2. when i pull either left or right, the dozer stop.. Seem the dozer want to keep going forward
I have tried the following:
1 Ran for a while to see if the heat will loosen it up
2. Ran it toward a tree and see if it will loosen something
3. Stick the blade down after going full speed
4. Jerked all kinds of way to see if someone will shake loose
no luck
the best i can guess it's either a break problem or the steering clutches are gone
I hope is just a break adjustment,, but i'm not sure how this is done..
Is there a way i can trouble shoot these before i get a mechanic and start spending a boat load of $$
