I'm new to tractors, hydraulics and FEL's. That said, my FEL goes up all by itself...! Bought it used and it worked just fine but has started lifting by itself requiring more hands than I have to keep things coordinated. Is there an adjustment I can make at the hydraulic control that will allow the FEL to stay at the height I leave it? Thanks for your help!

It sounds like the control cables that link the joystick with the valve body aren't adjusted right. I believe that you can adjust them quite easily - it's much the same mechanism as you probably saw on bicycles you rode as a kid. Just adjust the tension and lock rings on the end of the cable housing, and you should be good to go.

Thanks, that is a start. It looks like the joy stick comes right out of the valve body--am I missing something? There is a rubber boot covering the base of the joy stick. I'll take that off tomorrow and see what is underneath. Again, many thanks.

When you let go of your joystick does the stick spring back to its middle position or does it seem sticky?

The joystick springs back to middle position. To keep the bucket from rising I have to push forward past the center position.

When you pull the boot back that covers the joystick linkage does everything look tight. The only way your loader would go up like that is if one of the spools is being held back by some loose or misaligned linkage. Let me know what you find and we can go from there.

Looking from the driver's seat, the lower left "piston" doesn't move when I move the joystick with engine off--the 2 other "pistoms" do move with the engine off. The linkage on all look tight... It looks like the "piston" that lowers the FEL, the top right, moves just fine.
I really appreciate your help!

CORRECTION: The lower left "thing" isn't a piston after all and is solidly mounted to the valve body!
