This is a huge shot in the dark: I have a 1981 Ford 4610SU with a Koyker K2 loader. The loader was on the tractor when it was sold new, back in the early 1980s.

The bucket detaches, and my question is does anyone here know what type of attachment is used for the bucket? I ask because I am hoping to be able to buy a modern bale spear attachment that will attach to this loader. If it is some kind of "standard" attachment, that may be possible. If it is proprietary, probably not.

I have talked to Koyker and know I cannot buy attachments for this ancient loader, and I am going to ask them later today about the type of attachment, but I thought I would post the question here as well.

Thanks for any help.

George.

Thanks for the reply. I gather from your recommendation that the existing attachment method on a Koyker K2 is not skid steer. I use clamp-on pallet forks on the bucket, they have worked fine for the work I have, and I don't anticipate needing any other attachments, so I hope I can find a bale spear attachment that will attach to this FEL as it is. I may have to build one.

No it is not skid steer, I would describe the top mount as similar to skid steer, the bottom is just a pin on, it seems to be Koykers early attempt at a quick change system that never really caught on.

Unless Koyker will build one i really doubt it.

Modifying the implement is what I have done so far for my K2, and it has worked pretty well.

Since you are not planning on a bunch of new FEL implements you can just re-work the ones acquired and make them fit the K2.

That was my plan- but seems i keep getting and wanting more FEL implements and in the next year or 2 want to get a smaller 28-40 HP CUT to use for smaller chores around the place.
If/when that happens I will change the K2 to skid steer and make All the attachments skid steer to.

The top of the fast attach is very similar to a skid steer style and the only mod I have had to do on the top attach point was to extend the flat that captures the FELs arms top inverted V. (Seen in the picture of the Skid steer fork plate)
The bottom of the mounts for pin on takes a bit more work.

Some vertical steel plates- so that they can make use of the pins will likely need to be added to the skid steer attachment rear facing plate.

this pic shows the modified skid steer forks that now fit the factory K2 mounts: 100_8331 (2).JPG

Hope this is helpful
