Does anyone know anything about a Jinma Backhoe advertised on Ebay by KPX Tractors. It went for $2550 new (plus $600 shipping) and it appears that they have them from time to time. It hooks on a PTO. But for that price, I was thinking about putting one on a chassis.

Isn't that a terrific price for a PTO backhoe, and what are the gotchas ? Seems even if you had to do some additional fab work on it, to get you the basics for $3K seems like a good deal ? Is the metal weak, lousy hydraulics, or what ?

I have been wondering the same thing as I see them too on ebay and the guy selling them has no reserve on it.

Hmmmm.... Just got a notice that the "winning" bid of $2550 may not have been enough even though there is No Reserve, as the item has been relisted. Who knows, could be other glitches, but found it interesting.

Question still remains if anyone knows, assuming one could pick one up for under #3500 including shipping, do they work, are they reasonable quality, and a good buy, or a "gotcha" ?

I have some experience with this company. I purchased two backhoes directly from them in 2005 and I was pleased with the transaction. I do not believe they sell on eBay. More likely, this was another person who was reselling one. Either way, this was a while ago and I haven't seen the product on eBay since then.

In my opinion, KPX manufactures an excellent and reasonably priced backhoe attachment. My understanding is that they have their own factory and have taken the LW-6 design, modified a few basic components of the design, and upgraded it using some superior components. One of their representatives told me that a lot of quality assurance and testing now goes into each backhoe, and I believe them.

Anyway, I use the backhoes for my landscaping business and they work well. I would suggest you ask them for an 8" bucket instead of or in addition to the 16" bucket it comes with. I get a little more digging flexibility with the smaller bucket. I have hooked the backhoe up using both a PTO and the hydraulic system and I find that both work equally, so don't worry about that.

I hope I didn't get too longwinded - Annapolis Aaron
