Krpan forestry winch

Anyone has use a krpan forestry winch?
Is it a good purchase? They are the less expensive around here?
I look for a 3.5E model on a MF1729e, 34hp, 29hp at the PTO.
The cost for the the 3.5E is $2995 with 230 of steel cable.

Never used one but they look well built around here its Farmi or Wallenstein . Have you looked at the Uniforest 35M it looks well built also.......

Wallenstein look good quality (my backhoe is a Wallenstein and I really like it!), but a lot more expensive, uniforest look very similar then Krpan but also more expensive. I think that uniforest is also a Slovenian design but build in US. Maybe that’s why they are similar?

I think there both made in Slovenia .. HUD-SON FORESTEQUIPMENT Inc imports them to the USA. About the same price as the Krpan 3.5E...

The Uniforest is a good winch, I have a 35 which I paid that same price for. However if you are talking about $2995 Canadian the Krpan is indeed a better buy, and looks like a rugged piece of equipment.

It's also more comparable to the Uniforest 40 series in weight and tractor recommendations; 4 E / ER | Series E | Products | Uniforest d.o.o.

The only possible concern is that it's a bit overkill and possibly too heavy for your 29 HP tractor.

Looks good! I have a Farmi winch and wish I would have bought a winch years ago. Two things to consider. One, a self releasing snatch block makes in much easier when your woods are dense and you can't get a straight line pull. I highly recommend getting one. Two, I had issues with the ropes to activate the winch and reel lock. They kept getting in the way and I would set the winch down on them. I tied a loop in the very end and an intermediate loop about half way. Now I can hang them up. They are alway usable and don't get tangled up.

I haven't done it yet, but a couple of pulleys mounted high on the protective cage will keep the ropes up out of the way. To the OP, congratulations. Please post some pictures of it working once you start using it. Despite what the specs indicated, that looks like it fits your tractor quite nicely.

Thanks both of you, it work great, a like the very long wire (230’), It was good help on a very muddy area. Pulley and good sling is essentiel in that case. But I need to get use to the control rope. Maybe your idea of pulley on the protective cage?
