KTAC Negotiable?

Hi folks,
In order to get the incentive interest rates with Kubota they require KTAC (or an acceptable 3rd party). I assume this is a revenue source for the dealers. Has anyone had luck negotiating it down? For a M4D-071 they want like $8500 for 5 years.

Dealers have no involvement with KTAC.

Recently KTAC insurance cost $1.30 per thousand dollars value of the tractor that's on the contract, per year.

KTAC has paid me for two claims, one claim on each of two tractors in ten years. Very straightforward to deal with.

KTAC used to be a great deal, not so much. It is crazy what they charged for the M4, I switched to traveler's after a month and have no complaints...and significantly more money in my bank account.

I've also paid KTAC since '09 and I tried to make a one claim they did not pay.

KTAC covers much more than most if not all other insurance.

Per month, not per year.

Regarding KTAC in general, it seems like very good insurance and it’s very popular on this and other forums from what I’ve seen. The catch is that most of the people who recommend KTAC here and elsewhere have much smaller tractors than an M4 (i.e. much less expensive). At the small end of the L line, or smaller, I’d probably have KTAC too. When you get up to an M4 though you’re looking at $900+ per year, and well over $1,000 for a well equipped 071.

Have you talked to your carrier for your auto and homeowners insurance? We took the opportunity to switch insurance companies for home and auto which included the coverage for our new tractor for a very reasonable premium.
