I recently upgraded from a 2014 RTV 900 to a 2019RTV 1100C (because of a fire). I am considering the front mount snowblower package. It's expensive, but maintaining my 18 year old plow truck and blade is too. I would still have my Kubota L2501 with a FEL to clear the pasture.
I live in Northern Minnesota: lots of mostly dry snow and wind. I am thinking that a blower might be better than a plow for the driveway. Dispersing the snow rather than piling it might cut down on the drifting
Any feedback appreciated.

Last year was a miserable winter and spring. So far, this has turned out to be a very expensive summer.

Blowers are good for paved areas or gravel /dirt that freezes hard before it snows. Having no banks for snow to drift against is a plus. They are generally slower than a plow for small to moderate accumulations. I’ve never seen a blower mounted on an RTV so I can’t speak to that specific application.

Hello and good morning DianneInVA,

As much as I hate/despise 2 stage snow blowers I am going to suggest that you price a Bercomac 2 stage RTV motorized snow blower for the amount of money you are going to spend on a 2 stage snow blower.

If you already have the winch installed in the nose of that RTV all that is needed is the mounting frame for the snow blower and if you have the two mounting points on the frame already all you need to do is decide which bercomac snowblower you wish to buy.

The bercomac units have electric start V twin engines, a separate fuel tank and a remote control cable and pendant control for the snow blower. They also have a wheeled carrying frame that supports the snow blower where the kubota snow blower does not.

Having a separate motorized snow blower has a greater advantage as you will be able just slowly clear the snow without adding more stress on the engine, transmission and power take off. The two caster wheels help to keep the snow blower at the desired height to prevent damaging the pavement and digging up rocks with the scraper edge.

Compare prices for both units and then make your decision as the engine, transmission and torque converter on the RTV1100C will last much longer as the gas engine and drive system for the snow blower will take all that work load away from the RTV.

The last time I checked the bercomac people had three models of motorized snow blowers for sale to the public.

The one thing I would ask for in a change order if you decide to invest in a bercomac is to request a longer chute to get the discharge point above the cab and in so doing you will not be dealing with snow dust spraying across the windshield of the rtv while you are clearing snow.

if your L unit has a cab it may be worth your while to call snowvac and ask how much a motorized snow blower would cost for your L with a quick attach plate and then examine it all a little more as they use V twin gas engines for power as well.

Keep in mind that the largest bercomac unit will not be lacking for power and will not be stressed as much as the two smaller bercomac snow blowers as you will have plenty of torque to run the snow blower through its chain drive system.

why not use the L2501 for snow? i would put the money into implements for that thing before the side-by-side. The tractor has more mass, more capability, FEL or a snow blower on front or back. You need the weight. I cant see a side-by-side doing any meaningful amount of pushing/blowing in significant snow accumulations. I like blowers because you are not piling snow up in various places around the house / property, but dispersing it out into the woods/fields.

Does this mean u don't need a winch. I want to get a plow or blower but I don't have a winch so I don't know my options. Looking to fit a 2013 kubota rtv1100

lol isnt the point of owning a tractor to use it for work?!

You should have no difficulty mounting a winch on your RTV1100 if there
is a winch mounting frame available for it and the RTV 1100 has the twin
underbody mounting points on the rear of the RTV 1100 frame.
