I have a 1987 Kubota 2250 with 418 hours. Recently I noticed a small drop of oil coming out of a brass bolt on the bottom of the transmission. The bolt is directly behind the oil pan and has a metal pin in the middle that slides freely up and down. The oil leaks out of this area. What problem and how do I fix?

Thanks.

That is there to allow two things, engine oil that is leaking from the rear main, and / or transmission oil to get out with out getting on the clutch disk and causing slipping. The loose pin is made to shake and vibrate to keep the hole open. A slight drip should keep you checking for low fluid levels, but I'd learn to keep an eye on it if not a lot. All cures will involve splitting the tractor at the least to correct. This is an older tractor and a slight leak is to be expected
