2012 John Deere 1016, FEL, 60"MMM
I am in the market for a SCUT 1st time buyer, I found a used Kubota 2260 on craigslist with a FEL, 60" MMM, Rear blade with only 54 hours for $11,500. Is that a good deal? Also, what kind of problems do the 2660 have? Are they strong enough to pull a 4' brush hog? Smooth out my yard with the FEL? I don't plan on doing any major digging, mainly just smooth out the rough spots and move some dirt and mow approx 4 acres plus brush hog as needed.

As to whether it is good deal or not
is debatable simply because
The operating hours are unknown.

It is hard to smooth out area with front
bucket simply because your using the entire
bucket lip. smoothing out entails adding fill
or using rototiller at a shallow depth or using a
box blade which does a lot damage.

A Merry tiller and a rake do a lot work in short order.

But saying that a lawn roller loaded with sand is a
mowers best friend.

Price sounds good to me but can be location specific. Mine pulled a 4' shredder easily and through some thick stuff. Major problem to look out for is to make sure you get skid plate protection for the hst fan. Cheap fan but expensive fix. I had no problems with mine in 2 years and 200+ hours before trading up after buying more property. great tractor.

The 2660 is 4 hours from me at an individuals house, he moved to town that has a 1/2 acre to mow and don't need that big of a tractor. I been reading about the skid plates are you talking about the one on the rear? Can you still leave the skid plate on with the MMM?

The BX2660 is a great SCUT. Had one and it is a powerful machine. You don't need the skidplate if you leave the MMM on. A Boxblade, FEL and Ratchet Rake will solve your landscaping problem. The BB will be the counterweight for the FEL plus does a lot of different jobs.

You can leave the Bro Tek rear skid plate on, but remove the front. A lot of people don't bother with the front plate. It is a little harder to get the MMM PTO hooked up, but not too bad.

The BXpanded plate must be removed, but comes off easily.

We have a box blade, back blade and 48" rotary cutter with ours.

The 2660 is a very powerful, capable tractor keeping in mind the inherent advantages/disadvantages of a SCUT which have been the topic of hot debate as you well know.

In many applications there are a variety of models and sizes that will work well.
