I have been having intermitent to permanent electrical problems with my 1987 Kubota 2850DT. First the lights stopped working. Then the keyed fuel shutoff by switch stopped, so I have been using the manual pull shut off. The starter was intermitently working ok and other times nothing but a click. As a light tap on the starter while holding the key would work sometimes. I suspected trouble with the fusible link near the starter so removed it and reconnected those wires and now it has started every attempt. Will removal and bypassing the fusible link cause other problems? So far just testing starting capability with short runs. Glow plug works with key to the left and starts all he way to right. So left key position works, off does nothing, on seems to do nothing and key all the way to right starts. On seems to do nothing as i have no lights or dash lit or display. Turning key back to off does not have an impact. So there seems to be related problems from key switch and or fuel shutoff. It must be working a bit because I believe and would like to know does the fuel switch require voltage to turn to on or open position? Is there an online source for diagrams and parts along with some advice that may help resolve these problems and trouble shoot the repairs? I may use a simple voltage meter.
I believe I need a wiring diagram, and idea what fusible link does, key switch, and fuel switch advice.
