Kubota 2850 lift 500lb round bale?

Will a 2850 with FEL lift a 500 lb round bale to stack them? We are looking for another tractor and found this one. Owner says that he lifted 4ft round bales with it.

If it is truly only 500 pounds, then yes. 500 pounds is light for a round bail.
A lot will depend on how much rear weight you have. Also is it 2WD or 4WD.

You might be better off with a 3-point lift.

Lifting and moving a heavy bail is less stable than lifting and carrying a loaded bucket. (it is farther out there)

It is a 4 wd model. We can use the 3 pt on the rear to move the bale and when we get it to the barn use the FEL spear just to lift it up and move foward a few feet.

Does the owner have any bales where you can try it out?
Will you ever be lifting any bigger bales?

I had an L3600 4WD and it would lift larger bales but is was very tricky manuevering. Anything but level ground and it would tip.

The best spear would be one that connects in place of the loader bucket so the load would be closer tractor.

Yes, I agree Art. We would remove the bucket and put a spear in its place. That would kill two birds with one stone. 1. place the load closer to the tractor and 2. the difference in weight without the bucket.
