L355SS, 8.6-16 front tire...

Can't afford new tires yet, but need a solution until then.
I'm doubtful that this old tire will hold air, especially after
a dismount/remount, even after the patch (leaky all over.)

If I put a tube in it, what am I looking for in sizes, what range will work,
and valve stem style?

Thank you!

With a 4wd Kubota, must I change all 4 tires at the same time, or can I do them in pairs?
I live in hilly country, and have a loader, so the front axle does all the work/weight, RWD alone is useless.

As a non-expert that understands the principle I'll offer this:
The front drive axle when in 4x4 rotates the front tires slightly faster speed then the rear. We know it has to turn faster because the tires are smaller, but I'm talking about the ground speed of the tires. This is by design, because if the front moved slower then there would be damage to the front drive.

So the front tires can be replaced before the rear because this will just increase the ground speed over the rear. So the front will be spinning a bit more

Now if the rear are replaced later, this may be an issue IF (the big if) the front circumference of the tire is enough smaller do to wear. A little bit of wear is acceptable, but how much depends on gear ratio of front axle

Thanks for quick reply. I did not know this.
I think I've found some tires in my price range.

(I don't put many miles on my machine, so I doubt
I will replace the rear tires anytime soon, sidewalls are good.)

Getting more bite at the front wheels could really help yarding the occasional
log out of the hole I call my woodlot.

One other thing, using a different manufacture may or may not cause issues. Each manufacture can have a different outer circumference, so to verify that what your looking at will work, give us the current rear tires and the ones your looking at.

Rear tires are 14.9x24 (Fronts are 8.6x16)

What brand of tires are currently on the tractor?
What manufacture are you looking at for replacing the front tires?

I need to look them up to verify

If you replace your front tires and then find that the new ones are leading or lagging too much.
You can do quite a bit of adjusting with your tire pressures;
lowering the pressure will reduce the loaded radius,
while increasing the pressure will increase the loaded radius.
Between adjusting front and rear tire pressures a considerable amount of lead or lag
can be adjusted for.
