From what I have found, pretty much any of the ag tires in that size will do you good. Remember though, ag tires are meant to dig down and get down to harder ground. They will rut more, but usually get you though a bit better. Definitely meant more for the stuff than you are doing than Turf tires. R4's would also work because they are meant to "float" a bit more like the turf tires, but still have some decent biting edges.

Not really any advice, but just wanted to say you are lucky.

On the BX, it dont matter wether its turf, bar, or industrial, they are ALL the same size. And will all float as well as the turfs. (but if you spin, they dig quicker).

On bigger tractors, the R4's and turfs usually us a shorter and wider rim. And fronts and rears have to be matched. it is a lot bigger PITA

If you could wait a day or two you could wind up with Firestones from them or a tire shop, at least on the rear. Kubota often uses an odd size on the front that limits brand choices. World of difference in tire brands. If you could get Bridgestones, good, since that name is owned by Firestone. Lots of people dislike Titan or most any OEM name. To it's credit, Kubota has been putting better tires on OEM the past few years.
Might not fully apply to the small sizes of a BX, I don't know.

Ag tires are the way yo go with mud.

Get ya some weight on the 3pt to offset the loader weight and your front end will not sink as bad in the mud...;)

I have a L5740 and a BX2660 with Ag's and Turf's for both. From experience on my own property, and looking at your pictures, I don't think Ag's on your BX will help much. In mud, BX Ag's convert to slicks real fast - especially under load. Think about a bigger tractor if you must work in wet conditions.

Judging from your pics, I would say you need a track loader. I think you are expecting too much from your BX. Maybe with your new ag tires, you should also get a set of chains for the rear tires.

Thanks. Dealer does not have tires in stock so I may shop around for aftermarket. Will get chains, thats a good idea. Also like the idea of a bigger tractor or something with tracks. The area that is so muddy comes from a spring in the field, picture attached. Will need to develop and improve drainage.

Studying that last picture, I'm wondering if tires or weight will help. It looks like the bottom of the tractor is sitting in the mud. If the tires aren't in solid ground, then it doesn't matter what tires you get, you're not going anywhere. Honestly, it sounds like you'll need to do some drainage improvements first to get the soil to be able to hold up the machine....and then you would be good. Sometimes, a temporary "road" is what you need to build in order to get into a worksite. It's a pain....but it's more seat time. I wouldn't complain that much about that. lol

Wow. Going into woods or serious fields on turf tires. You are a brave man....

Chains are another possibility. You can get some serious off-road chains, if that is what you need.

It does look like your bottoming out in the picture. The ag tires may not help your situation. With the ag tires you will have a higher profile but sink deeper in the mud.
What is so important that you need to be on wet ground? I stay off my pastures when wet. It is a pain in the a** to fill ruts.
I have been stuck in more ways than I care to think about. Small tractors and big. I pick and choose my troubles now. Costs less too. I run R4's on a B3200.

Actually, I didnt think you had sunk to the frame (bottomed out), but maybe had hit hard pan where the tractor wouldnt sink any more but just spin on those slick tires. Looks like you also have WS tires on your RTV which would do much better with ATV tread which is what I have on mine. Unless you run a lot of pavement, you would be much better changing those out also.
Ag tires would seem to be able to help you out, but even with Ag tires rutting up the area is not going to be friendly to keeping it drained.
You could put in a sump to collect the spring water and then some underground piping from the sump to your closest drainage ditch to keep the spring area drained off rather than allowing it to spread out and mud up the whole area. We had the same problem areas at our farm and finally go a dozer in to cut some nice swales in the spring areas to drain them to the creek. This was done during last summer's drought so it was just damp and not muddy.

pond July 060.JPGsprind flow begins 2rain 007.JPG

This is one of the ditches we dug to drain a spring into the pond. Previously the area to the right of the ditch was wet and muddy all the time the spring flowed which is all the time when normal rain fall occurs. We did the same thing to the other springs putting in open ditches which was OK in our case since we have plenty of area. We could have put in a sump and piped into the pond and then backfilled the whole ditch area to make it usable to drive over if needed.
I did one area below my other pond by just digging a ditch, backfilling with large rocks then smaller rocks and finally covering it all over with a bit of dirt. The seapage drains thru the large rocks into a nearby creek tributary which is about 50 feet away and the top stays dry enough to drive my RTV and lawnmower over without bogging.

Thanks guys. Based on your feedback I am spending the cash I was going to use for tires on 7 yards of unit 4 gravel to create a work road through the driest part of the field for access. What I thought was a tire problem was really a mud drainage too small of a tractor problem. Looking forward to the seat time required to move the material for this project.

To me, that sounds like more of a fun afternoon than spending it waiting for or trying to mount up tires. :dance1:

From looking at your pictures tires will not solve your problem. A bigger tractor with wide ags would be a benefit. BX's were not meant for that kind of use.:confused3:

Do like one member did and put duals on all 4 tires of his BX. Then when you get stuck, you are stuck....

/ Kubota AG tires #18
judging from the pics you have - Your BX will not benefit from ags in mud. Its a short, low profile tractor. dualies is the only way to do if you gotta work in that mud.

You may need more weight and vbar chains. If you do get stuck - then chances are you need a winch or a taller tractor with wide tires for flotation.

A bigger tractor with more ground clearance will help. I have found that working in boggy conditions, which appears to be what you are working in, R4's work better for me than AG tires as they will float above the muck and still bring me out. I was unable to find hard pan in the area I was cleaning and AGs would dig down and not hit terra firma before I bottomed out. I would use the bucket to assist with backing out if I bogged down. I was cleaning out an old, large, pond that had filled in.
