Hello everyone
I was just playing eeerr I mean working with my new to me tractor and. I've noticed a few Issues!
1. I've been noticing the hydrostatic transmission surges in reverse only. Now when I first got the tractor I had added hydraulic fluid to the transmission which I later found out it wasn't the right thing to do. I have the correct oil and filter I'm just waiting on the main lift piston rebuild kit and new o rings for the inline strain filters which I belive there's two of them but im not sure. Other than that it seems to work as it should. I'm hoping that'll straighten out the problem.
2. Every now and again I notice a burning ember coming out of the exhaust. Also maybe every couple of seconds a faint white/grey puff of smoke comes out of the exhaust! Im hoping the burning ember is carbon burning off but not sure if this is bad. Again other than that starts right up. Could possibly need a glow plug but I don't think that has anything to do with it. Both happen when hot or cold any rpm. The tractor has about 1200 hours on it.
Any ideas???
Thanks
Chris
