Another post about a tough to start Kubota. I have a 2005 Kubota B21 with 350 hours on it. Lately when I go to start it I turn the key and nothing. This has been going on for some time........albeit on and off.

All I have to do is lean over and cross the solenoid and boom she starts.

This is becoming a habit lately and I want to fix it.

I believe it is one of the two safeties that are in-line with the ignition.........one at the clutch and one at the PTO engagement lever.

Has anyone ever taken these apart to clean them?? I have heard (through the grapevine) that the corrode after time and do not engage within their housing.

Or.........can anyone give me direction on how to at least check the ignition to start there.

Thanks

Use a Digital Volt Ohm Meter... Measure across the switches, one at a time... You will easily find the one with high resistance...
You can use the Ohms setting of the meter without applying power across the switch, OR the volts DC setting With power applied to find where the voltage is being dropped.

Also check the treddle safety switch, this is the switch which requires the forward/backward pedel be in the nutural position in case both the clutch and PTO switch check out
