I have a b3030 with a cab. It has a loader and backhoe and R4 tires. It was OK in the snow, not great but usable.

To get ready for the dealer to pick it up we took off the FEL and now it is horrible. The front wheels are in the air almost all the time. I don't want to take the backhoe off every time. That's just more of a pain than I want to deal with and I don't have any place to store it easily.

The plan is to get a B2782 which is only 380 pounds. Is this thing going to be any good in snow? It's a fairly level gravel driveway, around 400', or should I just put a plow on my truck and call it good?

Take the backhoe off for the winter, it's super easy to do with no tools required. You aren't going to need it and they stick way out back on the cabbed tractors. Ideal set up with a front blower is to put a rear blade on. I put my hoe under a couple of tarps for the winter.

I store my backhoe for the winter as I have a rear snowblower. Before I had the blower, the weight of the hoe made my 7610 like a tank when i was plowing. I would put the read blade on, but found it plowed so much better with the hoe. I also have R4 tires, but they are loaded, and I have front weights for the backhoe.

I now also run chains on the tires as I live on a hill with a 10% grade. Once the hard packed snow turns to ice, chains is the only way to go.
