A year and half ago I was completely new to tractors. This forum was key and many of you helped me tremendously in how to use a tractor.
My main need was very simple snow removal. Yes I will use the tractor for other needs but snowr emoval was my main priority after moving to a mountain house at 9000 feet of elevation, with a 0.75 miles drive way with some segment of 18%.
I live in Colorado and there is an old , reputable, family owned, large Kubota dealer in Denver. So I got there a Kubota B3350, it was powerful for its size, was a relatively new tractor so I went for it.
Whenever it worked it did the job very well. Of course with the cabin a/c and radio was also very comfortable.
Problems start from day number one with the regen. I tried to follow all the advice from the this forum about rpm's no iddling etc etc. The dealer tool the tractor 4 times in my total 100 hours of operation. They upgrade the software like 3 times, they were in constant communication with Kubota and every time looks like the problem was solved but after few hours back again. Often I have to leave the tractor in the field and let it cool down many hours then start OK again.
Summer is a major inconvenience but during winter when you depend of the driveway to being able to get to civilization having the tract stuck in the middle of the road is not good.
After long talks with the dealer and many consideration (which I can not hide, cost is a major one) I decided to get ride off it. I already ordered a Kubota L6060. The dealer were very nice in taking my b3350 with the implements and replace it with the L6060 with new implements. I do hope the L6060 does not have the same problems. The dealer told me that they have no problems with the new tractor. The issues with the b3350 and regen may be worst also because the altitude where I live (9000 feet).
My advice to you is that do not get the B3350. If you have it and it works ok, great! as I said when it works it is a fantastic machine, in my case I was not so lucky.
Well soon I will be posting for help in how to use the L6060.
Thanks again for all the help I got from this forum.
