Tractor
Kubota B6100
I acquired this tractor about a week ago for $800. This is my first tractor. She's not pretty but runs good once you get it started. It has 4x4, 3 speed, hydraulic blade on the front, missing the three point hitch. I have started it and ran it several times using ether. It runs about 2mph as my son in his 12v JD Gator can lap me going around the house. The hydraulics work but leak, one of the seals on the hydraulic arms have a leak. The muffler is in rough shape, its all there by inner part under the shield is rotting away. I'm missing the headlights and front part of the hood has rust holes. 4x4 works, creeper gear works, clutch and brakes work. Once running it seems to blow exhaust out of breather tube until it is warmed up and then has a steady drip of oil or oily water maybe from breather tube. All in all not bad for $800 I think

I have 2 main issues:

1)Hard to start and glow plugs appear to be dead (continuity of infinity)
2)Tractor seems to be stuck in low range

This tractor has the creeper gear setup so three levers on the right side. That selector works but the hi/lo range selector doesn't engage it just moves freely. How hard is this to repair? What is involved?

Been a long time since I worked on one of these but it is not hard. I think you will find a roll pin sheared.

Yes it will, sometimes it will get air locked but let it set overnight and it normally will pick it up the next day.
