I run a small backhoe business with a JD210C. It's a heavy 2wd machine and i'm looking for a small 4x4 tractor with a 3 pt hitch to run implements such as a trencher and a stump grinder off. I recently saw a Kubota B7001 for sale, I believe it's 4wd, but I'm not sure and I haven't seen it yet so I can't confirm the hours or condition.

Assuming it runs and everything works, would it be a suitable to run a mower and possibly a trencher or stump grinder?
The main reason I'm interested in it is the 3 pt hitch and the small size of the tractor which means I can fit it in the back of my truck and get anywhere with it.

What are your opinions on this tractor and is there anything model specific I should keep an eye out for.

Here are B7001 specs from tractordata.com : TractorData.com Kubota B71 tractor information Apparently sold in both 2-WD and 4-WD. Apparently a gray market model so parts are difficult to find.

In my opinion a 1,000 pound/16-horsepower B7001 is too light for either a trencher or stump grinder. Both applications are likely to move the tractor around rather than accomplishing work. A 48" Rotary Cutter is likely too much for 13-16-horsepower.

B7001 is a thirty-five year old tractor. (+/-) It perhaps had 16-horsepower new. Perhaps it has 13-horsepower now? Perhaps capable of delivering 10-horsepower through the PTO to a stump grinder?

Any tractor that has had 3-4-5 owners is a complete crapshoot in terms of reliability. With factory parts difficult there is a certain probability this gray market tractor has been repeatedly jury-rigged.

Those are all valid points. I'll likely end up end up with walk-behind units for the trencher and stump grinder. I've got an acreage at home so I might end up buying it if the price is right.

I also didn't realize they were quite that old. Thanks for the input.
