Hello, I am looking at buying the Kubota B7100HSD. I just bought 7 acres of land that's kind of hilly and was wondering if the hydrostatic transmission on these tractors hold up well running on slopes. I have used small lawn tractors with a H/T in them and they seem to wear out fast if you use them on too hilly of terrain.
Also the tractor I'm looking to buy is a 97" model with 305 working hours on it. Would 5,500 be a good buying price?

Thanks for any feed back.

Not sure on the hilly terrain, all flat in my neck of the woods.

I assume the tractor has a belly mower? Even so that would be the high end I would pay and would have to be in good shape. Im in Arkansas so things are usually cheaper here than many places. There's one on tractorhouse; 1999 model that says 125 hours for 4250, but has a dent in the hood. For a tractor to be 15 years old and just show a little over 300 hours would make me suspicious. That's what? 24 hours a year? I've put 120 hours on mine in 8 months and don't feel like I have worked it at all.

The hour meter on my 1983 B6200 had 1023 last month when I traded it in. The meter only had 3 digits so it showed 023. But I bought it from my brother who bought it new so I knew it the hours were right.

Both of those could have rolled a 1000 but that is not real bad either.

I bought a 2008 B2620 with 110 hours. Some people just don't use em much.

Remember no power steering, and scooting through the woods plus wet ground have a good grip.

Does it come w/ truf tires,if so you may want to consider tire chains.

Price does seem fair, more so if fel attach.

The hydro will hold up just fine.

My B7100 HST had 3000 hours on it when traded and was working good. Most of those hours were spent doing loader work or in the woods.:)

Thanks for the responses. Hour meter has 4 digits, well 5 with the tenths, and showed 0302.6. Story behind it was it was meant for a sod farm, dealer delivery man knew the ppl personally and delivered it to their house by mistake. They wound up keeping it there to mow their lawn. Has been garage kept, which was easy enough to tell by how bright the paint still was ( has some scratches and stuff, so I knew it wasn't repainted).

Bought it from the dealer that sold it originally. Owners traded it in on a 0 degree turn diesel mower. They had all the paper work to show it was a one owner.

It does have the turf tires, so probably will get some chains, although I mowed the front yard (2+ acres) with it already and it only slipped in one area. Will go at that spot in a different direction next time.

Thanks again guys.
