Kubota B7100hst engine oil gets higher

The engine oil seems to get higher on the dipstick the more I run the machine. Seems to me I read something about HST fluid leaking through a seal , adding fluid to the crank case. Has any one else had this same problem ? I keep close check on the HST fluid and the level does not appear to be dropping. Needless to say I end up changing the oil and filter very often.

Hi,

Does the oil have a milky color to it? I haven't heard of the HST fluid leaking into the crankcase, but if a head gasket was bad, you would get coolant into the crankcase. Also check your coolant level and color of coolant. Hope this may help.

How much higher on the stick does it get and how long does it take to do it?

It's probably fuel leaking by the injector pump. Try turning the fuel off when parked and see if it continues.

Norm. I agree with you about the fuel leak… but, my past experience with injector leaks was with the engine was running. The high pressure stroke of the plungers allowed a little fuel to pass and naturally it would end up in the oil. A simpler injector check will determine if this is it… it is simple IF you have the gauges. If not, a trip to a FI injector shop will tell you.
Rchavez66 WELCOME to TBN and Good luck with your leak, A few guys have suggested they could smell diesel in the oil… my nose was never that calibrated, even whin there was a lot of fuel in it…. KennyV.

The seal/diaphram on the mechanical fuel pump could also be bad. Is the fuel bowl and filter turning real dark? When it goes bad oil and fuel can migrate. The seals in the injector pump would be my second choice.
